Bio: Cagri completed his undergraduate degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering at Istanbul Technical University, Turkey and obtained his MSc and PhD degrees from Lancaster University in the UK. He has extensive industrial R&D and product development experience gained through working as part of multinational teams for several SMEs in the UK and has officially contributed to ETSI’s TETRA TEDS Release 2 Standard during his 20+ year career. As a co-founder of a technology startup, he developed a novel industrial wearable system for tracking workforce activity in the field, combining sensing, embedded design, and wireless communication technologies. His project portfolio further includes telemedicine systems, modem design, private mobile radio, and other wearable devices. In addition to leading software teams and providing consultancy to private firms, he has generated multiple pending patents in wearables, sensors, and automotive systems, and has co-authored several peer-reviewed international journal publications. Cagri’s areas of expertise include machine learning, embedded systems software and hardware, encryption, digital signal processing, and information theory.
